Ho! The Megapode!
Megapode, Ho!

The Megapode, a king of beasts,
Is honoured by the lesser Podes,
Who gladly bring it scrumptious feasts
With plates of gull and stag and toads.
For, besides it's Ho-ish nature
(It always seeks out wanton pleasures)
The Megapode is rather large
And rightly therefore placed in charge
Of all the Podes. But do not fear
At all throughout this coming year
This tyrant's reign
As for it, ruling's such a pain,
And Ho! The Megapode will go
To such extremes, so all will know
It can't be arsed to scream and shout.
So folk can be what they're about,
And Megapode develops gout.
And all it's power comes to nowt.
Oh Ho! The stupid Megapode, Ho!
